The institute library facilitates the production and dissemination of knowledge, information, insights & intellect in all areas of technology. Be it an academic program or a technology program, the participants are facilitated with the latest reading resources from all over the world.

The Library at Polytechnic houses books, periodicals, video films and CDs along with electronic databases in the areas of technology, business and management selectively chosen for reading and references. The collection includes resources relevant to teaching, learning, training, research and consultancy needs of the Institute.

The user-friendly library software called SOUL has been adopted at the Library Resource Centre to facilitate automation. This internationally popular software facilitates circulation (issue & return) of the books and speedy access to bibliographies, locations and availability information of the books stocked in the library.

GENERAL RULES FOR LIBRARY VISIT AND BOOK CIRCULATION PROCESS:

  • Students have to do entry of their Name, PEN number, purpose of the visit and sign in student visit register before enter the Library.
  • Students are allowed to get two Book issued for the period of Ten days from the library by producing library Borrower card at the issue counter
  • Each book will be issued for the period of Ten days after that they have to return it or renew it.
  • Renewal process will be subject to claims by other readers.
  • Students have to pay late fine if they don’t return/renew the book in time.
  • Fine will be charged@Rs.1/- per day.
  • For book damage, fine will be charged@100%of the book cost.
  • In case of book loss, students have to replace the book of the same author and latest edition or will have to pay book mentioned price.
  • In case of loss of library Borrower card, students have to fill the fresh application for getting new borrower card.
  • If the student loses his/her library borrower cards, she/he will be charged Rs. 50 for new cards after verification.
  • Maintain silence in the library.
  • Students should return the College Identity card and library borrower cards at the time of no dues submission.
  • Student can refer the reference book in the library during library hours by submitting I card. They have to return the book on the same day
  • Reference books, Current issues of journals and Magazines will not be issued to students for taking outside the library.

Library Membership and Circulation Policies

All registered students, faculty and staff of the institute are entitled for the membership of the library. The library membership card is available at the circulation counter.

LIBRARY RULES FOR BOOK BANK FACILITIES:

  • The book bank facility will be given to the 10% students of the total strength of each branch/class based on the income of their parents
  • Depending upon the availability of the sets of books the priority will be given to the students on the merit of the last examination
  • The student who fail in the Semester End Examination will not be eligible for Book Bank Facility.
  • All the students have to pay Rs.200/- as a rent (maintenance charge) which is nonrefundable and Rs.100/- as a deposit amount which is refundable at the end of semester.
  • One set of books for the entire subjects for whole semester will be provided
  • The set of books must be returned to the library at the end of semester.
  • Rs.10/- per day fine will be taken in case of late submission.
  • It is compulsory to take care of all the books. If any damage or misplaced than fine will be taken as per the rules of the college.
  • All the issued books must be returned incase the student left from the college in between the term.
